Unexpected Blessings: A Scholarship Surprise

Today, I received an unexpected phone call that left me in awe. I was informed that someone had nominated me for a scholarship through Soroptimist, a global organization committed to empowering women to reach their full potential and live their dreams, without my knowledge, and that I had been awarded it. The news was a profound reminder that God is always at work in our lives, providing for us in ways we could never imagine.

As I reflected on this surprise blessing, I realized that it’s easy to attribute events like this to luck or coincidence. But what if we began to see them for what they truly are: evidence of God’s presence and provision in our lives?

This scholarship is a particularly meaningful blessing because it comes at a time when I’m juggling multiple responsibilities. As a mother of three young children (ages 2, 3, and 4), I’m also pursuing a dual major degree and a rigorous ministry program. It’s a season of abundant growth and opportunity, and one that I’m deeply committed to, because I believe that God has called me to pursue the passions and callings that He has placed on my heart.

Receiving this scholarship feels like a beacon of confirmation, illuminating the path ahead and reassuring me that I’m walking in alignment with God’s plans. It’s a tangible expression of His provision and care, and it’s a powerful encouragement to continue pursuing my goals with confidence and faith.

I’m deeply grateful to Soroptimist for this scholarship, and for their commitment to empowering women around the world. Their mission to provide resources and opportunities for women to reach their full potential and live their dreams is a beautiful reflection of God’s heart for His daughters.

I also want to express my heartfelt thanks to the woman who nominated me for this scholarship. Your kindness, thoughtfulness, and willingness to see potential in others is a precious gift, and I’m humbled to be the recipient of your generosity.

Psalm 37:4-5 says, “Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this.” This verse reminds us that God is always working, always caring, and always providing. He sees our hearts, He knows our desires, and He delights in surprising us with His goodness.

This scholarship is a testament to the truth that God is always working in the background, even when we can’t see it. It’s a reminder that we need only trust in His goodness, His provision, and His care. As I continue on my journey, I’m grateful for this reminder, and I pray that it will encourage others to trust in God’s goodness as well.
